This lesson will be broken up into several parts and be taught over 1-3 days depending on the speed and desire of the students.

Materials needed--- A board, marking pens, Mathematics Connection Textbook By Ashok Manoharan

---Lesson overview---

Students will be given neccessary Knoledge on English place value vocabulary. By singing a song with them going from the lowest place value to the highest place value in shown in the textbook. The instructor will place the words and their numeric values on the board, so the children can be encouraged to sing along. Students will also write down the place values. In this way students with many learning styles can be reached.

---After Lesson Compeditition---

Students will be tested and reviewed on lessons learned by breaking the class up into groups of 8-10 students who will be competing against the other groups. The instructor will write down questions in English and the students will answer by voice and by circling the place value number on the board. The more quiet shy students will often be asked to represent their group to prevent them from trying to blend in too much. At the end of the competition, other groups will be asked to pay respect to the winning group.

Questions to be used for competition.

Typically the instructor will come up with questions on an as needed basis. Any premeditated questions however will appear in the space below.
