Lesson Plans Monday June 6th 2011

Dear Joe here is a basic lesson Plan for all the classes you will encounter on this day June 6th 2011. Please feel free to add and subtract anything that will improve the lesson. I will call you sometime after the banks open to confirm receipt of funds into my account.

English Class + Vocabulary for all the classes

Must -- cannot do without, cannot ignore,

Examples-- Cannot ignore putting on all your clothes in the morning. So I have for you www.youtube.com videos for this in English class.

Combine with flash cards with the words pants, shirt, "under clothes"(you could omit this one), socks, shoes. This is a great example for kids of "must have all"

Have -- What you are holding, yours
All -- Everything mentioned

Science Class

Living things must HAVE ALL of the following traits.

Can move by themselves, eat or create energy from sunlight, remove waste, reproduce, and respond to changes in their environment.

Then explain how plants make the gas animals breath and animals make the gas plants use. Draw a persons body with lungs and draw the gas coming from a plant drawn nearby go into the lungs of the person.

The pictures in this video may help you too, as they are accessible to children even if the words are not.

Mathematics

Review adding and subtracting and then begin some multiplication using the adding methoid to introduce multiplication to the kids. Example 4 + 4 + 4 = 12 or 4 X 3= 12

1/9 Preformance Review May 26. 2011

Two challenges are present with the class. To begin with students in 1/9 do not always know how to write their English Nick name on thier papers. This makes assessment impossible for those students. Perhaps some class time will have to be used in the future to make sure all students can write thier nick names and a classroom resource or refrence book will have to be made for those who can only dimly remember their English nick name. Students here can write their nick name so I will give them more space for an assessment.

Athen-- More pratice writing letters. Work looks rushed and cannot properly form the letter A in "balls". Numeric values in the cups correct but does not understand or care to estimate the size of the balls to "fill" the cup with them as opposed to putting them inside

BCFD-- The numeric values on his work sheets do not match the pictures drawn n 4 out of 5 examples thus far.

Fah-- Good work so far

"Tor"-- Drawn numbers symbols do not match numbers provided by the instructor. Should have hearing tested unofficially by a Thai teacher. I will arrange that when approprate.

Opor-- Good work

Boy-- Scribbled rushed writing. May improve if we can get full classroom coverage of disipline by a Thai teacher.

Pair-- Neat work but does not appear to understand the full meaning of the word "full' and "fill" when doing this assinment.

Pamda "Ramda" -- Good work

Pee-- Writes his own name with inverted E's. If evidence of this persists.. should be tested for strong Dislexic traits. Does not seem to understand arabic numerals and their relationship to physial objects. Child might require specialized education if a psycologist's test indicate.

Film-- Good work so far. Child is a bit lazy but this is an issue I think I can solve once classroom disipline is achieved a larger percentage of the time.

MoM-- Good work so far shows early signs of artistic creativity.. which I will encorage as class time and stress levels permit.

Most of the other students cannot be identifyed from work assinments because their names are written in Thai and thier assessments will have to wait until they can be made to identify themselfs by thier English nick name.

Khan Academy

I will be isolating after school lessons for my students in basic mathmatics and basic science. Some of these lessons will be used in class once the projector is installed and an internet connection is made to work. Khan Academy lessons that will be of interest to my M1-M2 students will be as follows.

*Class will not start till a certain minimum number of students has arrived and paid. If 10 students paying 100B each arrives class will begin at that rate. Should fewer then 10 students arrive 600B per hour private tutoring fee will be assessed per student.

STUDENT LIST
Amonrat Hannwichachaai(Kop)-- Mother of --Daughter "Eye" M1 Beginner
Contact(see Joe) (Requested Mon-Fri time slot for class instead of Saturday )

Math/ Eng 2/5 May 25th 9-10am

Note class may get a slow start as the teachers assistant will be entering and organizing the names of the students along with thier "nick names" and student numbers. We recived some unexpected news yesterday as many students who can write thier full names just fine, cannot write thier English nick names. This will slow down the process of making name tags quite a bit.

Class will review the simbols for addition, subtraction, multiplication and division and how they appear in English.
